Dianne Feinstein served as a U.S. Senator from California from 1992 until her passing on September 29, 2023. She was the first woman to represent California in the Senate and was known for her work on firearms legislation, environmental policy, and intelligence matters. Feinstein also served as Mayor of San Francisco from 1978 to 1988 and began her political career on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1970.
