Johnny Isakson (December 28, 1944 - December 19, 2021) was a Republican U.S. Senator from Georgia, serving from 2005 to 2019. A lifelong Georgian, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air National Guard, a real estate executive, and an experienced public servant. Isakson also served in the U.S. House of Representatives, Georgia State Senate, and Georgia House of Representatives. Known for his bipartisan approach, he chaired the Senate Ethics and Veterans' Affairs Committees. He resigned from the Senate in 2019 due to health concerns.
