Kamala Devi Harris is the 49th vice president of the United States, serving since January 20, 2021. She is the first woman, Black American, and person of South Asian descent to hold the office. Prior to her vice presidency, Harris served as a U.S. Senator from California, Attorney General of California, and District Attorney of San Francisco. She is known for her work on voting rights, immigration reform, and criminal justice policies.
