Scott Parkinson, a Republican, ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Virginia in 2024, losing in the Republican primary. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has extensive experience in political and legislative affairs. Parkinson served as the vice president of government affairs for the Club for Growth, executive director of the Republican Study Committee, and as chief of staff for then-Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis.
