Eric Hovde is a businessman, philanthropist, and Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Wisconsin. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, he graduated from East High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has built a career in entrepreneurship, banking, and real estate. Hovde also co-founded The Hovde Foundation, which supports vulnerable children and families through initiatives like Hovde Homes and other charitable projects, including combating sex trafficking and supporting clinical research for Multiple Sclerosis, a condition he was diagnosed with at age 27. He resides in Madison with his wife, Sharon, and they have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.
