Jim Risch, Idaho's 28th Senator, has over four decades of public service and is known for his 'no-nonsense' leadership style. Elected to the Senate in 2008, he serves on key committees, including Energy and Natural Resources, Foreign Relations, Intelligence, Ethics, and as ranking member on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Before the Senate, he served as Idaho’s lieutenant governor, governor, and state senator, championing property tax relief, efficient governance, and natural resource management. With degrees in Forestry and Law from the University of Idaho, Risch has also been a prosecutor, rancher, and attorney. He and his wife Vicki have three sons and six grandchildren and reside on a ranch outside Boise.
